(http://snltranscripts.jt.org/99/25radner.phtml) Gilda Radner is one of my favorite SNLers. She was sweet, she was funny, she had an honesty in her comedy that always seemed to shine through. I am ten years younger than the show but I am lucky that I have seen the reruns of the original cast. I fell in love with her sense of humor. Saturday Night Live is my obsession. My first real memory of the show was when I was fairly young and they were showing a commercial parody special. The commercial parody I remember was Bill Murray advertising for a product called "Swill". It was as gross as it was funny, I was hooked. In 1994 at the tender age of 10 I started to watch SNL, if I could get past Weekend Udate it was a good night for me, I'm sad to say it wasn't until I was fifteen or so before I could stay up to watch the show all the way through on a regular basis. So what makes me a fangirl? I'm addicted to the show, I watch it three times every saturday night (sometimes, not always) I watch the rerun on E! at ten o'clock then I watch the regular show at 11:30 and then the classic episode at 2 in the morning. I have read three books on the show along with books from people on the show that have nothing to do directly with Saturday Night Live (the obsession lays with former cast members, who I love dearly). I kick ass at SNL DVD Trivial Pursuit. I'm psychotic. no not really. I have a passion for comedy. I love to make people laugh almost as much as I love to laugh myself. If I don't laugh at least once a day then the day was bad. Its simple, I want to be a comedy writer, whether that be for SNL or not is yet to be seen but I would love to work for the show. I am inspired by the people who work there. I'm inspired because they punch out sketches in less than a weeks time and get them up and running, and they sometimes work and sometimes they bomb...but its live TV and I love it. | |||||||
